Continuing crochet vegetables project for my little cook, I recently faced up to carrot 🥕🥕🥕 and I must admit that it went smoothly 😁. I didn’t use any crochet pattern. I wrote my own, which I share here. In general, vegetables and fruits are very simple to crochet and best for taking first steps in amigurumi. I think that my tutorial will be helpful also in creating parsley – all you need is changing the color of the yarn from orange to white 😉
The first thing I did was opening the fridge to examine real carrots 😀. Secondly, I looked at the pictures on Instagram hashtaged #crochetcarrot or #amigurumicarrot. At the end I took a crochet hook, yarn and … I was lost 😉😉😉
What do you need to create crochet carrot?
- Yarn, I used Gazzal Baby Cotton (60% cotton, 40% poliacrylic), color numbers: 3465 and 3449
- 2,5 mm hook
- Scissors
- Fiberfill
- knitting needle

Greens of carrot
There are plenty of ways to create the greens of carrot. I like streamers the most. They are very easy to do, knowing the basic principle. My stalks were made of chains (longer – 31 chains, two shorter ones – 21 chains). Being at the end of the chain go back in second stitch and do two simple crochet in each of the stitches. Depending on how long the streamers should be, do that with appropriate number of stitches. Mine was about 10-15 stitches. When you reach the end of the first streamer create a chain and again do two single crochet in every stitch. Do this until you get three streamers in one stalk (of course, only two can be done). My carrot has three stalks with three streamers each.
Finally, sew the greens to the carrot using a yarn needle.
Easy? Of course! And it looks really cool. Perfect for beginners. More vegetables and fruits soon, stay with us and like our profile 🙂

I have been passionate about DIY since my childhood, and my innate patience and accuracy make the whole process of creation a lot easier for me and that gives me a lot of satisfaction and pleasure. During my first pregnancy I learnt how to sew, what resulted with few tutorials about sewing clothes for kids on the blog. In the beginning of my second maternity leave, I have learned how to crochet amigurumi from yt. I found out, that I really love it, that’s why so many blog posts describe my crochet creatures.
