While decorating the Christmas tree, it turned out that we don’t have the Christmas tree topper. So far, this hasn’t been a problem, but this year girls have argued that without the tree topper we cannot fully celebrate. It was necessary to act quickly and the very next day the beautiful, large, popsicle sticks star tree topper proudly decorated our Christmas tree. The kids made a big wow and I became a home hero 🙂
Polska wersja: Łatwa i efektowna gwiazda z patyczków kreatywnych.
- 20 large popsicle sticks
- Hot glue or siliconeglue
- Gold spray paint
- Gold glitter spray
How to make popsicle sticks star tree topper?
I started with painting the popsicle sticks, but now I wonder if the order shouldn’t be the opposite. It turns out that the glue holds the painted sticks well, so the sequence of actions doesn’t really matter.
First, I painted one coat with gold spray paint, then finished it with glitter spray.
With sticks painted, I started gluing the star. As you can see in the pictures, I did it in stages. After each step, I waited for the glue to dry, so the whole gluing process was quite stretched over time. You can speed it up considerably using hot glue 🙂
- First two simple crosses
- Then joining the crosses
- First step in creating the long arms
- Another portion of the long arms of the star
- And the last part
Popsicle sticks star tree topper is ready!
Put the popsicle sticks star at the top of the Christmas tree 🙂
