Coffee filters Christmas wreath

How to make coffee filters Christmas wreath

After the advent calendar with Rudolph reindeers, we have a box of coffee filters left. Then the white filters seemed to be a nightmare because they had to be dyed. But now we could use them for a coffee filters Christmas wreath. I have to admit that dyeing the filters with markers was a lot of fun and experimenting. Which marker is the best to dye, which dissolves, how do the colors combine, which to use? So many combinations and so many possibilities 💚

How to dye coffee filters with markers

Coloring coffee filters is a lot of fun and experimenting. Unfortunately, not all markers are suitable for dyeing, as some inks do not dissolve. My daughter and I had to do a few tries before we found the best markers. It is worth having a few shades of green to make the end result more effective.

  1. Cut circles from the filters
  2. Draw various green patterns and lines on them
  3. Sprinkle a little water
  4. Leave to dye and dry (you can let it dry on a towel for a while and then hang to dry)

How to make a coffee filters Christmas wreath

The base of the wreath can be a paper plate with a cut out center or a rim cut from cardboard or a box.

All elements have been stuck to the base, ie:

  • Dyed coffee filters
  • Red pom poms
  • Red bows

Filters were glued with paper glue, and pom poms and ribbon with all purpose glue.

The last step is to tie a ribbon that allows you to hang the wreath.
