Hands up, who hasn’t done homemade bread yet! I’m in a hurry to show you how easy it is: D Thinking about voluntary quarantine someday in the future I will be remember the smell of homemade bread 🙂 It’s delicious, has crispy crust on the outside and soft, airy inside. At least half of it magically disappears few minutes after being removed from the oven. Children love it and I love this smell in the air during baking. I bake almost every day, so we have permanent access to a fresh bread without leaving home. I found this recipe on the Internet, but I have baked it many times, so I can show you modifications recommended by me. Enjoy the post and baking your bread!
What you’ll need?
- 5-6 cups flour, I mix in proportion 2/3 i 1/3 accordingly:
- all-purpose flour
- whole wheat flour
- 1/3 block (2-ounce size) of fresh yeast (or 2 and 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast)
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 2 glass of lukewarm water
- 1 tablespoon of oil (once I forgot about it and the bread was also very delicious)
The bread made with all-purpose flour tastes more as a bun and fits perfect with jam and milk. It could be great idea for a sweet breakfast. I prefer to add whole wheat flour and a handful of lindseed and sunflower seed. Taste like little drops of heaven! 😛
How to make a crispy crust bread?
In the first step prepare yeast leaven. Crush fresh yeast with 1 tablespoon of sugar in the small bowl until fluid texture. Then pour half of the glass of lukewarm water and leave it for 10 minutes in the warm place.
Pour flour, salt, remaining portion of lukewarm water and oil into a large bowl. Finally, add the yeast leaven and mix with a spoon. Cover with aluminum foil and put in the fridge. In the original recipe, the waiting time for the dough is 10 hours. I take it out of the fridge after 1.5-2 hours and a bread is still perfect.
In the next step, heat the oven to 200 degrees together with an heat-resistant jug. Place the obtained dough on a flat surface, knead for a while, shape the bread and cover with a cloth for a few minutes. Skipping this step and kneading the dough directly in a bowl doesn’t make any harm to the bread.
When the heat-resistant jug heats up, put the dough into it and cover it from the top. Put in the oven for 30 min. After this time, remove the cover and bake for another 15-20 minutes.
This recipe is really simple and making modifications is recommended:) Enjoy your own homemade bread!

I have been passionate about DIY since my childhood, and my innate patience and accuracy make the whole process of creation a lot easier for me and that gives me a lot of satisfaction and pleasure. During my first pregnancy I learnt how to sew, what resulted with few tutorials about sewing clothes for kids on the blog. In the beginning of my second maternity leave, I have learned how to crochet amigurumi from yt. I found out, that I really love it, that’s why so many blog posts describe my crochet creatures.
