Wedding DIY is a novelty on the blog, but my sister’s wedding made me try something new 😁 The wedding was at ‘Old Cinema’ restaurant, so the main theme went by itself. What I associated most with the movie theme was cameras, slate, Oscars and popcorn. The combination of those resulted in the idea of movie theme wedding place cards as film slate with popcorn 🎬🍿.
Especially for this occasion, I have prepared the place cards template in English, which you can download below in an editable form, i.e. in .doc format.
Polska wersja: Winietki weselne jako klaps filmowy z popcornem – edytowalny szablon
You will need
- Computer to fill in the template with your details and guests’ details
- Printer and paper
- Cellophane bags 12x15cm
- Popcorn – you need a lot more popcorn than it seems. For about 45 vignettes I used 4 packages of microwave popcorn.
- Scissors
- Stapler
- Place cards template
How to make movie theme wedding place cards?
First, download the template and fill it with your details and the names and surnames of the wedding guests. Then print all place cards and cut them out.
Also prepare popcorn in the microwave, following the instructions on the package.
This phase is mass production like in a factory 😁
- Put the popcorn in the bag
- Wrap the top of the bag
- Place the printed and cut place card over the top
- Staple the sides and top
Movie theme wedding place cards are ready!

Nothing gives more satisfaction than doing something yourself. I haven’t even thought about DIY as my hobby, I’ve just done different “projects” when it was needed. Sometimes it’s a disguise for the Masquerade Party in kindergarten. Another time, cutting out the pumpkin and baking the witch’s fingers for Haloween. Or simply organizing holiday souvenirs. Now I decided to share my realizations with you. Let’s go it together!
