Snow globes have something truly magical about them — all it takes is one gentle shake to create your very own mini snowstorm. A Christmas snow globe made from a jar and fuse beads is a quick, eye-catching and wonderfully cozy DIY project. It’s perfect to make with kids and also works beautifully as a small, handmade holiday gift 🎄✨
In this post, I’ve included 4 ready-to-download templates, all designed to fit perfectly into slim, jam-style jars. You’ll find: Santa, a Christmas tree, a reindeer and a snowman.

Materials
- A jar with a lid – my templates are designed for slim, medium-sized jam jars
- Fuse beads + pegboard – at home and during school workshops we use LaManuli fuse beads
- Ironing paper and an iron
- Hot glue, super glue, or two-part epoxy glue
- Glitter – silver works best and swirls beautifully in water
- Water
- A few drops of glycerin (slows down the falling glitter)
- Decorative tape or ribbon for the lid – I bought a whole set of tapes at Action

How to make a Christmas snow globe using a jar and fuse beads
1. Arrange and iron the fuse bead design
Use one of the prepared templates or create your own design. Place the beads on the pegboard following the pattern, cover with ironing paper, and gently iron. The finished piece should be firm and stable, but not over-ironed.

2. Glue the figure to the lid
Attach the finished fuse bead figure to the inside of the jar lid. Hot glue, super glue, or two-part epoxy (the most durable option) work best. Let it dry completely.

3. Prepare the magic water
Fill the jar almost to the top with water. Add about ½ teaspoon of glitter (silver looks especially beautiful) and a few drops of glycerin to slow the glitter down and create that swirling snow effect.

4. Close and decorate
Screw the lid on tightly, with the figure facing down into the jar. For an extra festive touch, decorate the lid with colorful tape or ribbon.
And that’s it, your very own Christmas snow globe is ready to sparkle! ✨

Nothing gives more satisfaction than doing something yourself. I haven’t even thought about DIY as my hobby, I’ve just done different “projects” when it was needed. Sometimes it’s a disguise for the Masquerade Party in kindergarten. Another time, cutting out the pumpkin and baking the witch’s fingers for Haloween. Or simply organizing holiday souvenirs. Now I decided to share my realizations with you. Let’s go it together!
