We often use Hama beads to create characters from cartoons, especially Disney princesses. Our newest work is Raya and Kumandra out of Hama beads. I prepared for you Kumandra and Raya Hama bead pattern.
Raya is the title character, and Kumandra is the central location of the 2021 Disney animated film, Raya and the Last Dragon. Inspired by Southeast Asian cultures and geography, Kumandra is formed of five separate kingdoms – Fang, Heart, Spine, Talon, and Tail. Kumandra’s map helped Raya find the missing dragon Sisu.

Raya and Kumandra – Hama beads pattern
I designed the Kumandra Hama bead pattern and my daughter made Raya. The pattern can be used in two versions, in mirror image, depending on how you will use the pattern later. I like the picture on the non-ironed side, so I use the mirror image.
Additionally, the pattern is step by step with subsequent colors. The final version is divided into the kingdoms and with decorations like bushes, flowers and mountains.

How to make map of Kumandra?
To make Kumandra we used beads of the following colors:
- 4 shades of blue – for the dragon-shaped river
- 5 shades of green – for the realms of the Fang, Heart, Spine, Talon and Tail
- Yellow, pink and purple for flowers
- 2 shades of purple for the mountains in Spine

Nothing gives more satisfaction than doing something yourself. I haven’t even thought about DIY as my hobby, I’ve just done different “projects” when it was needed. Sometimes it’s a disguise for the Masquerade Party in kindergarten. Another time, cutting out the pumpkin and baking the witch’s fingers for Haloween. Or simply organizing holiday souvenirs. Now I decided to share my realizations with you. Let’s go it together!
