Today I would like to proudly present my first DIY birth announcement. Its happy owner is my little nephew, who has recently become my godson. 😊 I think that the birth certificate is a great addition to a gift (or a gift itself) on the occasion of a birth of a child or Baptism. The birth announcement consists of several elements that I will describe in today’s post. You will find out what you will need, where you can order it or how to make it. You should already know the little bunny – the main element. Visit this post for a link to the crochet pattern for this little cutie. I also prepared a template with parameters to edit.
Ready? Let’s go! 🙂

How to crochet balloons?
I didn’t find the perfect pattern for crochet balloons, so I decided to prepare one on my own. In fact, it’s nothing more than a modified ball with a frill at the bottom.
Dictionary:
mr – magic ring
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
inc – increase
dec – decrease
st – stitch
1: 6 sc in MR [6]
2: inc*6 [12]
3: (sc, inc)*6 [18]
4: sc in every st [18]
5: (2 sc, inc)*6 [24]
6: sc in every st [24]
7: (3 sc, inc)*6 [30]
8-12: sc in every st [30]
12: (3 sc, dec)*6 [24]
13: sc in every st [24]
14: (2 sc, dec)*6 [18]
15: sc in every st [18]
16: (sc, dec)*6 [12]
17: dec*6 [6]
18: 2 dc in every st [12]
Connecting the dots
Having the bunny and balloons ready, enter the child’s data in the birth certificate template and print it. Cut the sheet of paper and place it in a frame. Use hot glue to place the bunny and balloons in the frame and it’s ready! Isn’t it childishly simple? 😉

I have been passionate about DIY since my childhood, and my innate patience and accuracy make the whole process of creation a lot easier for me and that gives me a lot of satisfaction and pleasure. During my first pregnancy I learnt how to sew, what resulted with few tutorials about sewing clothes for kids on the blog. In the beginning of my second maternity leave, I have learned how to crochet amigurumi from yt. I found out, that I really love it, that’s why so many blog posts describe my crochet creatures.
