My adventure with beach craft and sea glass art began a year ago. This summer, I couldn’t help but collect more sea glass on the beach. In addition, my kids got really interested in sea glass craft, hence this time the three of us gathered together. This year I created pictures of a sailboat, an anchor, a mermaid and Bye July sign :).
Supplies
- Sea glass and sticks found at the seaside
- Frames
- Twine
- Glue
Beach craft with sea glass and driftwood
Sea glass is the basis, the more you collect, the easier it is to match them to your dream composition. You can create almost anything from small glasses, but you need a lot of them to get the desired shape. Large slides, on the other hand, are more difficult to fit, but you need less of them. This year again I had a lighthouse and a unicorn in my head, but in the end I decided on a sailboat, anchor and a mermaid.
First you need to prepare a frame. To do this, you need to disassemble it, remove the glass, insert the white cardboard or turn the one from the set onto the white side and reassemble the frame.
First you look for the best composition using materials you collected. If you work with sticks, you can cut them a little to make them fit perfectly.
Once you are satisfied with the appearance of the picture, proceed to sticking. Then leave to dry.
Sea glass sailboat
In the case of a sailboat, I thought for a long time how to finish the mast. Initially, I only planned 2 large sails, but then it felt as if something was missing. That’s why I started to think about the flag at the top of the mast. I had 3 versions to choose from: nothing, green, and brown.
At the end of the day, I decided to go for the brown flag version 🙂
Sea glass mermaid
Mermaid was the last. Also in her case, it took me a while to get to the final composition, everything was about a hand and a shell 🙂 with our without?
I hope you got interested in sea glass art 🙂 Mine are ready and are going to hang in my grandma’s house 🙂

Nothing gives more satisfaction than doing something yourself. I haven’t even thought about DIY as my hobby, I’ve just done different “projects” when it was needed. Sometimes it’s a disguise for the Masquerade Party in kindergarten. Another time, cutting out the pumpkin and baking the witch’s fingers for Haloween. Or simply organizing holiday souvenirs. Now I decided to share my realizations with you. Let’s go it together!
